3sixteen CT-BF1x – Classic Tapered Burkina Faso 13.5oz Indigo Selvedge

To kick off SS23, and to celebrate their 20th anniversary, 3sixteen is launching a new denim that is custom woven by Nihon Menpu fabric mill. While looking through new yarns and indigo dye treatments, they came across some swatches utilizing cotton from Burkina Faso, one of Africa’s largest cotton producers. What struck them about this Burkina Faso cotton is the character in the weave; the cotton takes the indigo with slight inconsistency, and the “neppiness” of the yarns yield a slightly rough weave that gives the appearance of both vertical and horizontal streaking, an effect that we anticipate will show more clearly as the denim is worn in. The fabric comes in at a hair over 13oz when raw, but the finished garment is given a light rinse and tumble dry to bring out the blues further and give the jeans a broken-in feel from day one. The double line selvedge ID on the fly and hidden coin pocket detailing are in emerald, the accent colour for the 20th anniversary. Trims include gunmetal YKK punch-through rivets and shanks, and a natural tan 20th anniversary leather patch. 

The Classic Tapered (CT) cut is a blend of 3sixteen’s Classic Straight and Slim Tapered fits which results in a jean that provides a high rise, room in the top block and a taper from the knee down. Made in USA.
